Much like molding clay, 3D modeling involves meticulous sculpting and refinement, only the base is geometry, be they polygons, NURBS, or subdivision surfaces. One of my focus points in college was this field of 3D graphics and I became fascinated with the world of Autodesk Maya, the industry-level 3D modeling, animating, and rendering software. Not long after diving into creating models, I dove into realistic rendering through the use of raytracing and the Mental Ray rendering engine. This gallery showcases my best work in this category, with a focus on combining fanciful ideas and environments with realistic modeling, lighting, and rendering.
I can assure you one thing: nothing in this gallery is a photograph.
